Remember When We Drank Rain in the Garden When the Nameless Draws Near I Migrate Back I Nurse the Milk of Millenia

Epiphany: sudden intuitive perception of or insight into the reality or essential meaning of something sometimes initiated by a simple or commonplace experience.

My paintings are intuitive poems arising from conversations between my inner world and nature. This world I seek to express is transparent fluid and radiant – a Great Mind Stream of Being. In the union of these worlds, nature, trees, animals and humans can talk.

DUSK

It is dusk
Lluvia hovers here
Dark Cloud breasts hang heavy
Over this parched land.

The elephants have gone home
Leaving behind fresh pungent
Dung for the garden.

Their soft silhouettes dimly
Seen as they cross over
Titia Peak
Then disappear
In the rosy glow of Western mesas.

Ears lifted
To vanishing light
And approaching
Felt night

The Message

The moon sends a message.
Its night gown
Slips to the floor
By your bed

Wake up
And Go
 In side.

There is a deep silence
In which Crickets sing
Their night songs

Pray to It.

The Elephants Were Calling Last Night

The Elephants were calling last night
From the Rim of the mesa
Into the valley of stones
Their sounds shaking my windows
And Crushing my heart

A Giant Matriarch
Standing on my chest
With her great soft foot.
Ear Wings beckoning me
to follow Her
To Follow Them

To Migrate Back
To leave tormented Earth
And Cross the starry fields to
Home.

Impermanence Colors Our Sky

You cannot avoid the
Gates of Anguish
Impermanence colors our sky
Peoples’ passing pleasure
Is the Cause
As Elephants’ Die

They grieve, you know
Cast dirt and sticks into
The sky
And take the great
Crescent tusks of their
Ancestors
Gently to hide

In secret places
Deep Inside
