These days, the Raven's call echoes the contents of my mind. My spirit lifts with the sound of Hummingbird's flight. The appearance of the deer at the edge of sun's light announces an awakening heart. My body grieves with the stark and tangled death of the old Pinon trees collapsing from drought around us.

And I believe we live forever and die endlessly; that we are vessels of radiance, interwoven in the great stream of being; that all Life speaks a language of the heart and Beauty invites us to breathe in the world -- aesthesis -- which heals us.

My art making is a mediumistic endeavor and a redemptive act evoking form from the formless, creating bridges between the worlds, the invisible and visible. The animals and birds in my work appear as beneficent visitors from the "world behind the world." As I create, I am immersed in an intuitive, personal vocabulary made of symbolic impressions, encounters, feelings, colors and light. Here in this liquid world my soul is able to merge and converse with the world soul -- the Anima Mundi.

We went seeking them. The white deer. They appeared in the hazy distance floating on the green meadow like clouds, heads turned in unison, they were poised on the crest of a green wave called Divide Meadow. The luminous white shapes emerged from the deep evergreen at the edge of awareness - - a waking dream with glowing silence. We approached to catch a glimpse as they vanished into flickering light.
